Known for its expertise in industrial and commercial steelwork, Fabcon Steel demonstrated its versatility by delivering a stunning and functional steel facade for the building’s prestigious penthouse level.
Overcoming Challenges, Delivering Excellence
Munyaka, a water-lover’s paradise developed by Balwin Properties, boasts a unique crystal-clear lagoon and offers a luxurious lifestyle. However, creating a high-end aesthetic for the top floor penthouses presented a significant obstacle: limited access to the building due to its proximity to Gauteng’s largest man-made dam.
Fabcon Steel rose to the challenge. They designed and fabricated a bespoke structural steel facade, comprised of over 312 meters of tubing and weighing a substantial 7.4 tonnes. This intricate facade not only provided the desired visual appeal for the penthouses but also offered valuable privacy and shade control.
Precision Engineering, Expert Installation
The project’s complexity didn’t stop at the design stage. To safely hoist the 20-tonne steel structure to the top floor (seven stories up), Fabcon Steel strategically deployed a 25-tonne crane. This meticulous operation showcased Fabcon Steel’s exceptional planning and installation expertise.
